Lessons for nursing master’s degrees

Basic Life Support
The BLS module is designed to enhance the practical and theoretical competencies of nursing master’s students in emergency care situations. By integrating video-modelling techniques, the module allows students to observe and analyse real-life clinical scenarios, thereby bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application. This approach not only improves technical skills but also fosters critical thinking and decision-making abilities in high-pressure environments. Through the use of smart glasses and video self-modelling, students can engage in reflective learning, enhancing their preparedness for real-world emergencies. Overall, the BLS module aims to equip nursing professionals with the essential skills and confidence needed to respond effectively to life-threatening situations.
PI Catheters (PIVC)
The PIVC module focuses on enhancing the competencies of nursing master’s students in the safe and effective management of PIVCs. This module employs video-modelling techniques, allowing students to observe and analyse real-life clinical scenarios, thereby bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application. By integrating smart glasses and video self-modelling, students can engage in reflective learning, improving their technical skills and fostering critical thinking in high-pressure environments. The PIVC module aims to equip nursing professionals with the essential skills and confidence needed to manage intravenous access devices effectively, ensuring patient safety and optimal therapeutic outcomes.
Sterile Gloves
The Sterile Gloves module is part of the Clinical Modelling project’s comprehensive training suite designed for nursing master’s degrees. This module focuses on the critical skill of donning and doffing sterile gloves, a fundamental practice in infection control and patient safety. Through a combination of video-modelling techniques and evidence-based instruction, learners are guided step-by-step to master the procedure, ensuring compliance with best practices and enhancing clinical competence. The module is structured to support both initial learning and continuous professional development, aligning with the project’s broader goal of innovating healthcare education through immersive and practical training methods.
Surgical Hand Wash
The Surgical Hand Wash module focuses on enhancing the competencies of surgical teams through innovative training methods. Utilising video-modelling and telementoring, the module provides immersive, step-by-step demonstrations of proper surgical hand hygiene techniques, including the use of antiseptic agents and sterile equipment. This approach ensures that healthcare professionals can perform aseptic procedures with precision and confidence, thereby reducing the risk of infections in surgical settings. By integrating ethical standards and technical requirements, the module aligns with best practices and regulatory guidelines, supporting the continuous professional development of surgical teams across Europe.
