As part of the ClinicalModelling project, we are excited to share the launch of two catalogues of lessons designed to enhance the skills and competences of nursing professionals across Europe. These catalogues, now available in digital format, offer practical and engaging lessons aimed at fostering lifelong learning, critical thinking, and autonomy in clinical practice.
Catalogue for Nursing Master’s Degrees
For nursing master’s students, a set of 20 practical lessons has been developed, designed to be delivered as part of Higher Education (HE) levels 6 and 7. These lessons focus on integrating smart glasses into clinical learning and practice, ensuring privacy and safety for both professionals and patients. With a student-centred learning (SCL) approach, these lessons aim to strengthen nursing competences, enabling students to take a leading role in both self and team-based learning.
The lessons are aligned with the European Higher Education Area (QF-EHEA) and the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA) frameworks, ensuring consistency with first and second-cycle qualifications at levels 6 and 7. The training covers a broad range of competencies, from the use of smart glasses in clinical contexts to the positive impact of digitalization on educational practices.
Available in English and soon in Portuguese, Spanish, Polish, and Slovenian.
Catalogue for Continuous VET Post-master’s Degrees
In addition, we have developed a catalogue for Continuous Vocational Education and Training (VET) aimed at nurses in surgical instrumentation. These lessons will focus on equipping nurses with the skills to use smart glasses in clinical practice while maintaining the highest standards of privacy and safety. The lessons are designed to enhance both the autonomy and collaborative learning capabilities of nurses, ensuring their preparedness for the rapidly evolving healthcare environment.
The lessons will be implemented as part of the post-master’s degree in surgical instrumentation at Escola Superior de Saúde de Santa Maria (ESSSM) in Portugal. As with the nursing master’s degree training, the curriculum follows a student-centred approach and is based on the principles of the European Qualification Framework (EQF) and the European Quality Assurance Reference Framework for Vocational Education and Training (EQAVET).
Available in English and soon in Portuguese, Spanish, Polish, and Slovenian.
We are excited to see how these lessons will transform the learning experience for healthcare professionals, equipping them with the digital tools necessary to thrive in the evolving healthcare landscape.
