Academic partners have held four meetings to present and discuss the prototype of the manual video-modelling with teachers, trainers and other educational experts. As result from these meetings partners will design a manual on video-modelling for health education, a promising tool to enhance the training of health professionals.
During June/2024, the consortium promoted 4 meetings involving a total of 35 educational professionals and information and communication technology (ICT) experts from Portugal, Spain, Slovenia and Poland. These expert’s and teachers’ consultations aimed to present and discuss the prototype manual on video-modelling, gathering feedback and insights to refine the final document.
Multiple topics were discussed at the sessions, including challenges regarding the training of trainers and the execution of lessons; ethical and technical principles, covering the preparation, recording, and use of specialised software and the structure and content of the manual, with a particular focus on Basic Life Support (BLS) training as the first process to be recorded at universities. Participants provided valuable feedback and recommendations included some changes in titles, improving the manual’s instructions on capturing, editing, and saving videos, integrating pedagogical aspects into video-based learning, assessing the effectiveness and satisfaction with the training content and modality, and in adding a section about Ethical, Legal, and Social Implications (ELSI). Nevertheless, the manual’s structure and content has been well-received by participants, also because this manual aims to bring practical experience and hands-on experience into health education classrooms, enhancing the training and development of future healthcare professionals.
